Sitting in the DFAC (Dining Facility) my crew and I are enoying yet another amazing meal. Entertainment Tonight is playing on one of the tv's when segment on the 'Foot loose' remake comes on.

My pet: "I never understood why anyone likes this movie and how did they learn to dance so well so quickly?"

Samwise Gamgee: "I know what a stupid idea for a movie. Like those back woods hicks don't know what dancing is until some city kid comes and shows them. 'Oh we ain't got no electricty, thanks for showing us how people live.'"

Me: "Wait what? That's not the plot of that movie.  They don't dance for religious reasons not because they don't know what dancing is."

My Pet: "Ok but how did they get so good at it so quickly?"

Dan: "It's a movie."

Me: "And it's dancing it's something some people can just do."

My Pet: "I can't."

Samwise Gamgee: "Me either."

Me: "That's because you have no rhythm."

My Pet: "True."

Me to Dan: "Did he just say that he has rhythm but cannot dance because he does not like music? hahahah"

My mother has decided she does not care about y'alls amusement.  I just got back to my room from work and this is the email I had waiting for me… 

"To avoid any hard feelings, I told Mac to block you on Facebook. I didn't tell him that you have been making fun of him on your blog." 

This was my reply:
"You are going to end up blocked on FB party pooper... If you didn't want him to be made fun of you should have either raised us both to be retarded or neither... 1:1 is no bueno"



I can't hit him... I can't try to make him a better person... I'm not allowed to at least bring others joy through his weirdness. Ugh! Also I'd like to point out my mother has told me how not amusing any of my blog entries are and she only checks to see if I'm making fun of precious... and if precious puts it out into cyberspace why can't I just repost it???

TOPIC:

People say that everyone is equal in the United States and anyone can be anything. It is true because there are laws of discrimination against minorities. But if there were no laws against discrimination would the companies treat all the employees the same regardless of their culture or skin color?

NICK K:

"Generally, yes I’d like to think that there would be no difference whether there is a law or not. I think all reputable companies would still have a public policy of treating everyone fairly because it would be bad for business if they didn’t. Though it would probably be a small percentage, there would still be people within those companies that would discriminate against others. For as far as our society has gone from the days of segregation and outright discrimination, there still are retards out there that are brought up to dislike, or learn to dislike, people that are different."

MY RESPONSE TO NICK K:

"hahaha it's awesome that you used the word "Retard" to describe closed minded people who discriminate… if you employ a person with downs syndrome to stock the shelves at wal-mart and use words like "retard" to mean stupid you will be referred to as closed minded for discrimination.  I'm not judging…I just thought it was funny.  Also a side note: my squadron had bumper stickers that said "I'm a gunship guy, you're a homo…" apparently this upset the homosexuals on our base so they complained to the JAG.  Maybe we could change them to read "I'm a gunship guy, you're a retard…"'

Little Brother

I know some of you need a little more of my brother in your life so i think until he blocks me again i'm going to take random things from his facebook page and post them here for you to see… 

After making some comment about Lebron James and expressing his opinion of the city of Miami someone called him harsh and this was his response:

THIS IS A CONTINUING THREAD…MY QUESTION TO TAMMY L WAS:

" I think it is important not to judge our societal norms against those of another country. A question that immediately came to my mind when it said women are treated unfairly was, by who's definition? I know we are share some common definitions of fair and unfair, but in some countries that is their norm."

I just want to make sure I understand that you're saying that you think we shouldn't judge other cultures for their treatment of women…

TAMMY L'S ANSWER? 

I was saying that there are some common norms shared by all humans - you shouldn't rape, murder, etc., but if a woman is seen as a second-class citizen in another country, we cannot justify that as fair or normal by how a woman is treated in our own culture. In may foreign cultures religion plays a major role in how the members of its society are treated and we simply cannot determine a fairness level for that based on our own cultural norms. Does that help?

"yes…in fact it is incredibly helpful.  A second class citizen has fewer rights, meaning they are less human than those with full rights.  Second class citizens get punished for being raped, second class citizens get beaten and arrested for driving with out a penis, second class citizens are forced into early marriages (we call this "pedophilia" or "statutory rape" they call it "OK") domestic violence against second class citizens is not criminal and on and on and on…yeah i shouldn't judge.  I mean they're people too and if the way the men in their society have chosen to interpret a book (that was obviously magically zapped to earth by God and not written by other men) then that's a beautiful thing… let's do business without judging.
